In an alternate yet familiar past, KURIOS steps inside the mechanical lab of an inventor convinced that there exists a hidden, invisible world—a place where the craziest ideas and the grandest dreams await. Once the inventor succeeds to unlock the door to this world of wonders, time comes to a complete stop and an uplifted cast of otherworldly characters invades his curio cabinet, bringing his makeshift creations to life one by one. As the visible becomes invisible and perspectives transform, KURIOS bursts into a celebration of the power of the imagination.

Determined traces four centuries of Black history in Virginia through stories of extraordinary individuals who struggled for equality and, in the process, profoundly shaped the nature of American society and the meaning of our collective ideals. Their stories help us to understand the origins of today’s problems and to reckon with the painful legacies of slavery, segregation, and white supremacy. These determined individuals also inspire us to create a better future.

HARMONY: A TEXTILE EXHIBIT
5641 General Washington Dr,
Alexandria, VA 22312
Broadway Gallery, an Alexandria purveyor of Fine Art, Art Installation and Framing, presents Harmony, a Textile Art Exhibition in collaboration with Sacred Threads, June 1 through August 31, 2022.
Artists selected for the show use the theme “Harmony” as a jumping off point for their pieces. In a time when our world feels chaotic, we look for Harmony in our lives. Curated by Lisa Ellis and Barbara Hollinger of Sacred Threads, submissions considered will use the construct of size as a unifier and follow the Studio Art Quilt Association definition of the medium of textiles: “a creative visual work that is layered and stitched or that references this form of stitched layered structure”.
Broadway Gallery, established in 1978 in Northern Virginia, has provided fine art to the wholesale industry for over 40 years. Working directly with artists for representation to the public, focusing on architectural firms, interior designers, major corporations, foundations, and law firms throughout the D.C. Metropolitan region and beyond.
Sacred Threads is an exhibition of quilts exploring themes of joy, inspiration, spirituality, healing, grief and peace/brotherhood. A biennial exhibition was established to provide a safe venue for quilters who see their work as a connection to the sacred and/or as an expression of their spiritual journey.

Staying safe and sound inside provides a much-needed reprieve from so many of the stresses of our current day and age. A live virtual theatre performance allows you to enjoy the arts from your own home or homes - whether for a date night, a way to spend time with friends or just enjoy something for yourself, live virtual theatre experience is always a fun treat.
The Virtual Repertory Theatre Collective was founded on December 29, 2020. We are a fully virtual, bicoastal theatre company. We exist to provide a safe place for performers to work, to empower actors with creative input and to use the new technology tools to deliver art to the people. We are interested in challenging the status quo for what it means to be a theatre, how actors choose their work and what theatre in the 21st century looks like.
