About this event

Under this Clown Castle, the big top tent in black and red, aerial acrobats, magicians, oddities, mystifying animals, and all the other things that conjure up images of a "ordinary" Circus, although the usual circus has very little,

A brand-new show that will take you to a dark universe populated by animals with remarkable circus art abilities, always poised between delight and the most unrestrained dread.

A chaotic but entertaining fusion of circus, theater, and cabaret that evolves into a performance that transports you back to when we dream... and throughout our dreams and fantasies. The combination of feelings that scare, encompass, amuse, and surprise creates an experience that is impossible to forget.

This is truly a Paranormal experience like no other.

Legendtrip & Lattes: The Exorcist Stairs & Georgetown

Sun, November 6, 2022, 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM EST

George Mason University 4400 University Drive Fairfax, VA 22030 United States

About this event

On Sunday, November 6, 2022, join the Folklore Roundtable for a legendtrip and coffee! We're going to a set of stairs in Georgetown that you may be more familiar with as "The Exorcist Stairs" this semester since autumn is a great season to explore creepy places and delve into the legends surrounding them.

The famous flight of stairs was depicted in the 1973 movie The Exorcist, which was based on the William Peter Blatty novel. The 1949 exorcism of a young child named Roland Doe in nearby Cottage City, Maryland served as the basis for the book's plot.

Georgetown is home to a lot more mysteries, frightening tales, and mythology than just the stairs, which may be the most well-known ghost story in the area.

Masks are REQUIRED for carpooling. We'll go to Call Your Mother/Saxbys Coffee (both places have vegetarian/vegan options), grab some coffee, and walk to the stairs, among other frightening stops. Join us if you dare! Since this is a walking trip, make sure you dress comfortably and check the weather before leaving.

Spaces are limited, so you MUST RSVP. This event is free and open to Mason students who are currently enrolled. A valid student ID is required to participate. Please make arrangements by emailing Betty at [email protected] if you live nearby and would want to attend without needing to carpool.
